Donguté Academy

While many propose training centers on paper, Donguté Academy at Mile 2 Limbe is already transforming lives through practical knowledge. In the last 18 months with zero external support, we have practically empowered over 100 youths, women, and IDPs from Northeast, Fako, Meme and Ndian with the exact skills that stop them from failing in poultry: authentic brooding techniques, low-cost feed formulation from local materials, disease prevention, and how to market and sell their birds online. Our approach is 70% hands-on on our 5,000-bird demo farm and feed mill, 30% theory, and every student must successfully raise 50 broilers to graduate. The outcome is not just a certificate. It is confidence and profit: our graduates achieve less than 5% mortality compared to the 30% most beginners suffer, and about 67 of them now run their own small farms and earn monthly income supplying their communities.

The reason our graduates succeed where others quit is because we teach knowledge that keeps them in business. We don't just train and leave them. We stay with them through our integrated system: we supply them authentic chicks that truly grow, we supply quality feed they formulated themselves, we provide veterinary guidance on call, and we show them how to sell via our e-commerce platform across the country. This continuous knowledge support is why 2,143 farmers from 4 regions still trust and buy from us, and why our former students return as trainers for the next batch. What we are multiplying is not buildings, but knowledge transfer.

With support of 50 Million FCFA to expand our brooding capacity from 5,000 to 10,000 chicks and automate our feed mill and hatchery for training purposes, Donguté Academy can directly empower 150 youths per quarter, 600 youths per year, with life-changing practical knowledge at less than 85,000 FCFA per youth. Each cohort will be equipped to produce 7,500 broilers per cycle, creating at least 150 direct farm owners and 300 indirect jobs in transport, feed supply and sales. More importantly, each youth trained becomes a knowledge center in his or her village, teaching 3 more people, meaning 600 youths trained by us becomes 1,800 empowered indirectly within one year, breaking the cycle of unemployment, rural exodus, and dependency in the South West.

In essence, Donguté Academy is not asking for funds to absorb budgets. We are asking for investment in knowledge that multiplies. Give us the tools to scale, and we will give Cameroon a generation of youths who don't need to look for jobs because they have the practical knowledge to create them, feed their communities, and train others. That is the true return: not money spent, but lives empowered.
